She was the second wife of Benjamin Pou Izlar. They married in South Carolina about 1868.
Caroline Larisey was a music teacher. She taught piano, violin, and viola. She was from Charleston where her family lived on the Battery. During the Civil War, Sherman’s troops occupied her family home. When she practiced piano, the troops requested northern songs. She refused and played southern songs. The troops then smashed her piano, so she started singing the same songs as loud as she could. The troops took all the silver and valuables. Later her family moved to Little Britain on the South Carolina Coast.
Caroline was listed as Mamie C. Izlar, b. SC April 1845, in the 1900 US Census in Rowesville, Orangeburg Co., SC, in the household of her son-in-law Marvin Boone and her daughter Nettie L. Boone.
