Writer. Hollywood Columnist. As a student at the University of Illinois, he was the city editor of the Daily Illini from 1937 to 1938. He subsequently was a reporter for Daily Variety from 1947 to 1951 and wrote a gossip column for The Hollywood Reporter from 1951 to 1966. He co-authored with Gerald Frank the biography of actress and singer Lillian Roth "I'll Cry Tomorrow"(1955). He died at the Mayo Clinic after complications from open-heart surgery.
