BUTERA ANNE (nee Constable) of South Whitehall Rd., Norristown, PA , who was 101 years old, died on Fri., May 3, 2002, at Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown. After a brief illness she suffered heart failure. Mrs. Butera was born in Norristown in December, 1900, one of six children of Giuliana and Giuseppe Constable who were immigrants from the village of Castel del Giudice in the province of Molise, Italy. She attended Norristown High School. She was married for 66 years to Harry Butera, prominent Realtor and Civic Activist in Norristown for more than 65 years; he died in 1993. She is survived by eight children, Doris Bonner of Limerick, Marjorie McDonald of Atlanta, Ga., Kenneth of Philadelphia, Barbara Ferriter of New York City, Robert of Philadelphia, Richard of Aspen, CO, John of Newtown Square and Raymond of Blue Bell. She had 27 grandchildren and 22 great grand children. Annie, as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, was devoted to and took great pride in her large brood. And the brood loved her back with exceptional affection. In addition to rearing a large family, her passions were in cooking and gardening, and her indelible imprint is her eight children, all of whom cook and garden. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 A.M. Wed., May 8 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Marshall and Buttonwood Sts. Norristown; friends may visit with the family between 10 and 11 A.M. at the Church. Interment Riverside Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Child Development Foundation, 1605 W. Main St., Norristown, PA 19401 or the Pathway School, 162 Egypt Rd., Norristown, PA 19403 would be appreciated.
