He entered the Air Force on March 29, 1993 choosing the field of Electronic Warfield Technician. During his 15 years of service, he was stationed at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea; Kadena Air Base, Japan and Hurlburt Field, Florida where he was stationed for the past year and a half. He also participated in Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal of Valor and his parents were presented with the Air Force Commendation Medal for his service. Outside the Air Force he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. His life was taken in an accident involving his Harley Davidson.
