Raymond W. Butts Jr., 76, of Rushville died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Fayette Memorial Hospital in Connersville.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Moster Mortuary, 334 N. Main St. in Rushville.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery in Rushville.

Raymond W. Butts Jr., 76, of Rushville, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008.

Born March 6, 1932 in Rushville, he was the son of Raymond Butts Sr. and Mildred (Cox) Butts, both deceased. He married Betty Hickmott Aug. 31, 1976; she survives.

Mr. Butts was a lifelong resident of Rushville and was a member of the Rushville Eagles Lodge. He was a spinner tender at Knauf Fiberglass in Shelbyville.

Survivors besides his wife include one son, Raymond (Dani) Butts III; three daughters, Sierra (Mike) Cheek of Arlington, Angela (Joe) Derringer of Rushville, Amy Jo (Jerry) Miller of Rushville; two brothers, Robert (Darlene) Butts of Springfield, Ohio and Roy Butts of Connersville; one sister, Pauline (Donald) Gossett of Knightstown; 29 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Mr. Butts also was survived by one son, Tim Butts of North Carolina; two daughters, Cynthia (Danny) Walker of Carthage and Mona (Jeff) Grider of Greensburg; and one stepson, Bill Turner of Rushville.

He was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter and one brother.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Harlan Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon Thursday at the mortuary.
