Born in Gastonia, N.C., she had resided in Miami from 1955 until 1977 while working for Eastern Air Lines. In 1977 she and her family relocated to Atlanta, where she worked as an executive secretary for the commercial real estate development firm of Bell, Cowart and Jackson in Buckhead, Ga. After working an additional 15 years, she retired in the mid 1990s and moved to Fernandina Beach. Mrs. Coddington was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fernandina.
She leaves behind, her children, Donald Vance Wright III (Linda), Marietta, Ga., David Jeffrey Wright, Chicago, Ill., and Julie Kimmel (Paul), Fernandina Beach, a brother, Bobby Deane Mann (Jeanette), Fayetteville, Ga., and five nieces and nephews, Bob Deane Mann, Dennis Michael Mann, Dana Jill O'dell, Darlene Elise Smith and Debra Lynn Gullivan.
A celebration of her life and memorial service will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church, Fernandina Beach, with Dr. Holton J. Siegling III officiating.
Following the service, her family invites guests and friends to visit at the home of her daughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 9 N. Sixth St., Fernandina Beach, FL 32034.
