Ashley died Nov. 4, 2008, in Albuquerque. He was born May 10, 1965, in Zuni, into the Black Streak Wood People Clan for the Black Sheep People Clan.
Survivors include his partner, Joe Martinez of Albuquerque; brothers, Alex Ashley of Gallup, Louis Ashley of Albuquerque, Anthony Ashley of Gallup; sisters, Priscilla Shirley of Colorado Springs, Colo., Loretta Ashley of Gallup.
Ashley was preceded in death by his parents, Leo G. Ashley and Helen Silversmith Ashley.
