Myrtie L. Bailey, 91, of 1485 Jones Road, Fenwick, died Tuesday at Blodgett Memorial Medical Center, Grand Rapids.

She was born June 11, 1895, in Palo, the daughter of Clarence and Bertha Hendrick Beach.

She attended the Palo schoiols for about ten years, working at the Palo telephone office and clerked at the Kling Department Store. She joined the Palo Methodist Church at an early age where she played the piano and was an active member.

She married Otis H. Bailey on Aug. 12, 1919, moving to a farm in Ronald Township. He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1976. They were active members of the Ionia Mission for many years and she was state treasurer for 28 years of the Michigan Auxiliary of the World Gospel missionary Society. Since retiring, she had been associted with the Shiloh Community Church; the church camp is on her farm. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Orva and Dewey.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Community Church, with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Burial will be in Woodard Lake Cemetery.

The family will be at the Rich Street Chapel at the Montgomery Funeral Home today from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A memorial has been established for Shiloh Community Church, in care of the funeral home.
