His urn is being placed in the Crestview Mausoleum at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston. Cause of death was acute pulmonary disease. At his request no services will be held.
Lawrence LaVerne Byrum was born February 24, 1922 in Blakesburg, Iowa. He was the fifth child of Charles Benjemmon and Clara Edna (Lathrop) Byrum of Blakesburg, Iowa. He was preceded in death by all of his siblings, infant Byrum, Fay Elvira Byrum, Grace Ellen Byrm, Charles Clifford Lewis Byrum (Alias Ralph Henderson), Charles Eugene Byrum and his stepson Robert Royal Seville.
He was born and raised in Iowa until he was 20 years old. Lawrence Byrum and a couple of his friends received job offers at the Bremerton Shipyards and traveled by train from Iowa to Washington. He worked in the shipyards as a sheet metal mechanic and was drafted into the Army Air Coprs, where he served as a Corporal in the 89th Air Engineer Squadron from February 3, 1943 and was discharged October 29, 1945. He fought in battles in Normandy, Rhineland and Central Europe. While in the service he learned fluent French.
He met Betty Jane Lund while working at the Bremerton Shipyards and married her October 23, 1945 in Seattle, Washington.
He later served in Korea as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force of the United States Reserve from April 21, 1951 and was honorably discharged on May 8, 1953. He received the European African Middle East Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
In 1956 he married Dorothy Bunten and was a stepfather to two stepchildren.
He later met Marie Seville at the VFW auxiliary where they enjoyed dancing before retiring. He married her on June 23, 1982 in Seattle, Washington.
He resided most of his life in Seattle, WA. and worked for Boeing as a sheet meal operator and then later for Wycoff Co., in Seattle, Wa. as a hook tender and crane operator. He retired from Wycoof Co., after 34 yrs. of service.
Mr. Byrum and Marie Seville Byrum enjoyed spending most of their time traveling through the United States with their travel trailer. They later moved to Wickenburg, Arizona and enjoyed living in the hot and sunny weather. Although they loved being in Arizona, they decided to move to Lewiston, Idaho to be closer to family members because of health concerns.
For many years Mr. Byrum enjoyed fishing, camping, photographing, and wood working in his spare time. Survied by his wife, Marie Seville Byrum, three daughters, Sharon Louise Byrum Davis, Kent, Washington, Yvette Elaine Byrum Aune, Bozeman, Montana, Michele Renee Byrum Ball, Irrigon Oregon, three step children, Roselee Ann Danville, Florida, Marlene Grosse, Seattle, Washington, Don Bunton, Seattle, Washington, daughter-in-law, Barbara Seville, Orofino, Idaho, and niece and her husband, Mary and Leonard Steinbrink Albany, Oregon. Mr. Byrum has numerous nieces and nephews, 7 granchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 16 step grandchildren, and 19 step great-grandchildren. Any donations in his name should be sent to the America Heart Association. Lawrence LaVerne Byrum was cremated at Mt. View Cemetery and is located in a niche there.

His urn is being placed in the Crestview Mausoleum at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston. Cause of death was acute pulmonary disease. At his request no services will be held.
Lawrence LaVerne Byrum was born February 24, 1922 in Blakesburg, Iowa. He was the fifth child of Charles Benjemmon and Clara Edna (Lathrop) Byrum of Blakesburg, Iowa. He was preceded in death by all of his siblings, infant Byrum, Fay Elvira Byrum, Grace Ellen Byrm, Charles Clifford Lewis Byrum (Alias Ralph Henderson), Charles Eugene Byrum and his stepson Robert Royal Seville.
He was born and raised in Iowa until he was 20 years old. Lawrence Byrum and a couple of his friends received job offers at the Bremerton Shipyards and traveled by train from Iowa to Washington. He worked in the shipyards as a sheet metal mechanic and was drafted into the Army Air Coprs, where he served as a Corporal in the 89th Air Engineer Squadron from February 3, 1943 and was discharged October 29, 1945. He fought in battles in Normandy, Rhineland and Central Europe. While in the service he learned fluent French.
He met Betty Jane Lund while working at the Bremerton Shipyards and married her October 23, 1945 in Seattle, Washington.
He later served in Korea as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force of the United States Reserve from April 21, 1951 and was honorably discharged on May 8, 1953. He received the European African Middle East Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
In 1956 he married Dorothy Bunten and was a stepfather to two stepchildren.
He later met Marie Seville at the VFW auxiliary where they enjoyed dancing before retiring. He married her on June 23, 1982 in Seattle, Washington.
He resided most of his life in Seattle, WA. and worked for Boeing as a sheet meal operator and then later for Wycoff Co., in Seattle, Wa. as a hook tender and crane operator. He retired from Wycoof Co., after 34 yrs. of service.
Mr. Byrum and Marie Seville Byrum enjoyed spending most of their time traveling through the United States with their travel trailer. They later moved to Wickenburg, Arizona and enjoyed living in the hot and sunny weather. Although they loved being in Arizona, they decided to move to Lewiston, Idaho to be closer to family members because of health concerns.
For many years Mr. Byrum enjoyed fishing, camping, photographing, and wood working in his spare time. Survied by his wife, Marie Seville Byrum, three daughters, Sharon Louise Byrum Davis, Kent, Washington, Yvette Elaine Byrum Aune, Bozeman, Montana, Michele Renee Byrum Ball, Irrigon Oregon, three step children, Roselee Ann Danville, Florida, Marlene Grosse, Seattle, Washington, Don Bunton, Seattle, Washington, daughter-in-law, Barbara Seville, Orofino, Idaho, and niece and her husband, Mary and Leonard Steinbrink Albany, Oregon. Mr. Byrum has numerous nieces and nephews, 7 granchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 16 step grandchildren, and 19 step great-grandchildren. Any donations in his name should be sent to the America Heart Association. Lawrence LaVerne Byrum was cremated at Mt. View Cemetery and is located in a niche there.
