Former Franklin County Man Dies at Carlyle, Ill.
Funeral Services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Seth Philander Ingram, who passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herschel B. Jones, in Carlyle.
Mr. Ingram was born in Hamilton County on March 23, 1848, and at the time of his death was 87 years of age. For many years he was a business man and general merchant at Thompsonville, but for the past two years had made his home with his daughter. Death was caused by a paralytic stroke suffered Wednesday evening.
The body was brought to Benton at 8 o'clock Sunday morning where it lay in state until the hour of the funeral, which was held at the First Baptist church with Rev. J. Will Howell of West Frankfort officiating.
It was taken to the Baptist church in Macedonia where old friends might view it before interment in the Macedonia cemetery. The Freeman Funeral Home was in charge.
Besides Mrs. Jones, he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Ruth Bethman of San Diego, California, and six grandchildren.
