Born August 1, 1923 in Lee County, Virginia, he was the son of Oscar and Hallie Mae Martin. In 1942, in Middles-boro, Ky., he married the former, Anna Louise Unthank, who survives.
Mr. Hopkins was preceded in death by one brother, John C. Hopkins, and one sister, Gladys Hopkins. Surviving besides his beloved wife of 66 years, is one daughter, Sandra A. Ferrante and her husband, Randy, of Bristow; one son, Bob Hopkins and his wife, Susan, of Woodbridge; four sisters, Eula William, of Fort Myers, Fla.; Willie Crusenberry, of Martinsville, Patty Flanary and her husband, Dan, of Kingsport, Tenn. and Betty Sturgill, of Jonesville; one brother, Bill Hopkins and his wife, Maureen of Rose Hill; one grandson, James P. Ferrante and his wife, Leanne, of Bristow; two granddaughters, Jennifer Vanover and Krystal Harrison, both of Woodbridge; and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Ferrante, of Bristow.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Rd. Manassas. A celebration of Cecil's life will begin at 2 p.m. in the Baker-Post Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Herndon, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Va.
