RICHARD ALLMAN, JR. BROUGHT HOME FOR BURIAL

Richard Allman, Jr., who had been attending school at Columbia for some time past, died last Saturday after an operation for appendicitis, and was brought here for burial Sunday afternoon in the Lucedale cemetery.

Mr. Colter, superintendent of the institute and seven of the students came over for the funeral and the boys who were fellow students, acted as pall bearers. It is sad to see a boy just entering manhood taken away, but it was indeed a comfort and consolation to the bereaved family to know of the warm friendship of the superintendent and the student body for their friend who had been called by death.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday conducted by Rev. H.C. Castle, assisted by Rev. G.S. Jenkins the Baptist pastor and Mr. Colton, Supt. of the Columbia school.

Among those from away that attended the funeral were: his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Phillips, and daughter, Miss Winnie, of Moss Point, also from Moss Point were Mr. and Mrs. Toney Dixon, From Gulfport, Mrs. A.W. Langley and Mrs. Dave Cowart, and from Mobile, Mrs. J.C. Orrell, Mrs. W.F. Burbanks and Mrs. W.F. Cope.

The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the grief stricken family in their hour of sorrow.
