Katherine Abeldgaard, 87, Fosston, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1993, in Dakota Hospital, Fargo.

Katherine Schacher was born April 29, 1906, in Sletten Township, Polk County, Minn., the daughter of Peter and Katherine (Mauger) Schacher. She grew up and attended school in Sletten Township. She married Peter Abelgaard on Nov. 29, 1923, in rural Fosston, and they farmed near Ross, N.D. They returned to Fosston in 1936. Peter Abelgaard died in February 1962.

She is survived by daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Raymond) Pearson, McIntosh, Minn., Lettie (Mrs. Eugene) Kiesner, Maple, Grove, Minn., Doris (Mrs. Christy) Christianson and Edna (Mrs. Olaf) Arneberg, both of Fosston, Betty (Mrs. Willie) Larson, Bagley, Minn., sons, Harold and Lloyd, both of Lengby, Minn., Clarence, Homer, Alaska, and Peter, Richfield, Minn., 36 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchildren; sister, Alvina Somdalen, Fosston; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; six brothers and two sisters.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fosston.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in Carlin-Hoilmen Funeral Home, Fosston.

Burial: Hansville Cemetery, rural Fosston.
