Wetumpka, Ala., Nov. 3 - Mrs. Susan F. Austin, 83, one of Wetumpka's oldest residents and most beloved women, died last night at a local hospital following a two weeks' illness.
Mrs. Austin was born near Nixburg in Coosa County, but for more than half a century had made her home in Wetumpka, where she was prominently identified with the life of the community, being especially interested in religious and charitable enterprises.
She was the widow of W. A. Austin, former probate judge or Elmore County, and the mother of the late Dr. J. Max Austin, prominent physician of this county.
Funeral will be held from the home at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Dr. H. P. Amos, of the Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Wetumpka Cemetery, McMorris-Harden in charge.
She leaves three sons, T. L. Austin, of Wetumpka; F. S. Austin, of Oklahoma; W. A. Austin, sheriff of Elmore County; two daughters, Mrs. John Cain, of Birmingham, and Mrs. Ola Bloxom, of Miami, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
