Mrs. Mary Emma Wildes Mixon, 90, died Monday evening (December 7, 2015) at Baptist Village Retirement Communities after an extended illness.
She was a native of Blackshear, but she has lived most of her life in Waycross. She was formerly employed for many years by the cigar factory. As a beautician, she owned and operated Mary's House of Beauty. She is a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Mrs. Wildes is preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Martha Clark Wildes; her husband, Cecil Edward Mixon, Sr.; one daughter, Terry Kirkland; and one son, Cecil Edward Mixon, Jr.
Survivors include one son, Greg Mixon of Waycross; 8 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday (December 12, 2015) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
