Stewart J. Dingman, 73, of 34 S. Main St. Gloversville, died at 6 p.m. Monday at Littauer Hospital following a long illness.
He was born Oct. 23, 1918 in Canajoharie, the son of Morgan O. and Mable Edgerton Dingman. He moved to this area in 1939.
Mr. Dingman worked as a center man for 28 years at MCA Records in Gloversville retiring in 1981.
He was of the Methodist faith. His first wife, Ida Mae Van Evera, died May 6, 1963.
On April 17, 1965 he married the former Lucy M. King. She survives.
He is also survived by one daughter, Pamela Dingman of Gloversville; three sons, Richard Dingman of Johnstown, Jeffrey Dingman of Gloversville, and James Dingman of Bleecker; a stepdaughter, Carol Ann Harper of Gloversville; five sisters, Hazel Dingman of South Springfield, Otsego County, Mary Vosburgh of Nelliston, Martha Foster of Johnstown, Rose Taylor of Plymouth, Neb.; And Margaret Ibarra of Wasco, CA; a brother, Bradley Dingman of Gloversville, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a son Christopher Wayne Dingman who died Feb.12, 1968.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the A. G. Cole Funeral Home, Johnstown.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown.
