Cleora Campbell
Cleora Opal Campbell died Thursday at the Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital in Grass Valley. She was 97.
In accordance with her wishes, no services will be conducted.
She was born Jan. 19, 1899, in Silver Lake, Texas. She lived in Anaheim [CA] for 16 years, and in Eureka [CA] and Fortuna [CA] from 1939 to 1969.
During her early life in Texas, she was a pioneer in the field of women calligraphers. She was a gardener all her life and an avid walker. She also enjoyed crocheting.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by her son, Donald W. Campbell of Penn Valley; daughter Micki Shewmaker of Penn Valley; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lassila Funeral Chapels in Auburn.
