Our sweet mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away suddenly on November 7, 2008 as the result of an automobile accident.

Yvonne was born on January 5, 1923 in Brigham City, Utah to Alvin and Cecilia Morris. She was one of seven siblings. She spent many happy years growing up in Brigham City. During her high school years, she was part of a well-known trio of singers. She attended and graduated from Box Elder High School. After her graduation, she became the head librarian of the county library at age 19. She married Vern R. Beecher in the Salt Lake Temple on September 10, 1946. They were married for 21 years and in the middle of raising their lovely family of six children, Vern passed away at a young age from cancer. Yvonne went back to school and graduated with a degree in Library Science which she used to support her young family as a librarian at Weber State University.

In 1975, she married Millen Atwood. They enjoyed a few short years together before he, too, succumbed to cancer. Yvonne loved her Savior and the scriptures. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There she served as Relief Society President and held many other callings with distinction. Yvonne loved to do genealogy work and spent many years assisting others in the LDS Family History Library. Two days a week, she served in the SL Temple as an organist and received calls at the Prayer Roll until the time of her death. More than anything, Yvonne loved her family, which included six children, twenty-eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She could often be heard to exclaim, "Don't we have the most wonderful family!"

She will be missed by her children, Gean (Weldon) Hill, Karen (Rick) Francom, Kent (Pat) Beecher, Lynn (Lori) Beecher, Jan (David) Kelsey and Lyle (Lori) Beecher, all of her grandchildren, her sisters and brothers, Marjorie Stokes, Elliot Morris, Vay Morris (deceased), JDell Morris, Joan Foley, Claudia Phelps, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Highland Park Ward Chapel, 2535 South Douglas Street. A viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive and one hour prior to the Funeral Services at the Ward Chapel.
Interment: Brigham City Cemetery.
