Harlon Homer Bowers, 78, of Idabel, died at 6:20 p.m. Saturday at an Idabel hospital (McCurtain Memorial Hospital).

Services were at 2 p.m. Monday in the Norwood-Welch Funeral Chapel in Idabel with W.W. Starnes and the Rev. Dayne Freeman officiating. Burial was in the Canfield Cemetery in Idabe.

Born March 17, 1894, in Dresden, Tenn., Mr. Bowers moved to Idabel in 1926 from Clarksville, Tex. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Zelma Bowers; a son, Billy Bowers of Idabel; two step-sons, Shelby Shockley and Stanley Shockley, both of Idabel; a brother, B.V. Bowers of Clarksville, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Gustie Gibbons of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a ....
