Lenore Teresa Haen was born March 8, 1908, in Piqua, Kansas, the daughter of Jacob and Teresa Walter Haen. Lenore taught school from the late 1920s through the 1930s in the Woodson County District. In later years she had been employed as the retail store manager at Mode-O-Day clothing store, retiring in 1982. Mrs. Haen was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, its Altar Society Circle #4 and the Young Hearts Senior Citizens Group.
Mrs. Lenore Heffern passed away on November 3rd in Kansas City, Missouri. She was 100 years old. Her parents, husband, seven brothers and sisters, and one great grandson preceded her in death. She left her son, Tom; daughter-in-law; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
