She was born to Edward and Jessie Williams Cross on January 6, 1925 in Salt Lake City. Ada attended South High until a handsome young man from Woods Cross swept her off her feet and married her at the young age of 16. Marvin Louis Hatch and Ada were married on November 11, 1941, at her parent's home in Salt Lake City. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 17, 1943. Bountiful and Rose Park were their homes for many years and mom's beautiful contralto voice graced many a church choir. She was the ultimate homemaker, raising six children, canning, sewing, and producing wonderful crafts and handiwork. One of her favorite activities was growing beautiful flowers.
Surviving are her children, Patricia (James) Walker, Janis (James) Lyday, Rodney (Carol) Hatch, Warren (Jeanette) Hatch, Christine Putscher, and Brian Hatch. Also, her siblings, Kenneth (Nona) Cross, Stanley (Joyce) Cross, Winifred Trythall, June (Robert) Ericson, sister-in-law Rowene Reid, brother-in-law Brent (Shirley) Rodgers, and many nephews and nieces. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, brother William, one great-granddaughter, one great-grandson and one great-great-grandson. She loved her 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren, and was always very happy to receive visits, cards, art work, and photographs from them.
Graveside Services will be held at the Bountiful Memorial Park Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2008.
