From an excerpt from the Life Story of his father, Bert Leach we read, "When Almy was ready to have my oldest son Harry Doyle Leach we couldn't reach the doctor. So I helped Almy in the delivery. Soon Mrs. Forbes arrived and cleaned up Harry. Then about an hour later the doctor arrived, and was he surprised to see Almy and Harry both doing fine. He asked me who tied the cord and I answered proudly I did. Harry was born on Tim McMann's farm."

Harry was a Civil Engineer for the county of San Diego and his nickname was "Hap" because of his happy disposition.
Harry was an active participant in the Oceanside IOOF (Independent Order of Odd Fellows) and held many offices. He was initiated in Oceanside Lodge #146 and having passed through the chairs was selected to serve District 100 as their D.D.G.M., after which he was active in Committee Assignments for the Grand Lodge.
Harry passed away at Kiser Hospital, on Zion Street, in San Diego, California after a 5 year struggle with lung cancer.
Obituary says he served in the Navy in World War II.
