My cousin Ronald Dingman, son of my Uncle Silas and his wife Thelma. A Veteran of the Vietnam war, he served in the Special Forces with the Green Berets in Vietnam. Enlistment Date:21 Mar 1967, Discharge Date: 20 Mar 1969. Gone too soon.

Ronald B. Dingman, 43, of Palatine Bridge, died suddenly Friday, Oct. 29,
at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam.

Mr. Dingman was born Dec. 2, 1949, in Amsterdam, the son of Silas and
Thelma Smith Dingman. He attended Fort Plain Central School and FultonMontgomery Community College.

He was employed, at one time, for Wade Tours and Brown Coach Line.
Later, he worked at Sport Craft Inc., Perry, FL, designing boats, until 1987.
Mr. Dingman was a veteran of Vietnam, during which he served with the
U.S. Army in the Special Forces Green Beret Unit.

On July 25, 1970, he was married to Linda R. Gage.
He was of the Lutheran denomination.

Survivors, beside his widow, include two daughters, Mrs. Tresa Lynne
Montanye of Canajoharie and Rhonda T. Dingman of Palatine Bridge; one
son, Raymond 'Michael' Dingman of Palatine Bridge; one sister, Mrs. Diane
T. Tompkins of St. Johnsville; two brothers, Larry Dingman of Fort Plain
and Leon Dingman of Halmuth; a foster daughter, Alicia J. Daley of Palatine
Bridge; one grandchild; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service was Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the Chapel of Houghtaling &
Smith Funeral Home Inc., Canajoharie, with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman
officiating. Burial was a Ephratah Rural Cemetery with full military honors
presented by VFW Post 3275 Memorial Squad.

Calling hours were private.
