Mary Alice Jones was daughter of Abram Dallas Jones and Mary Simms Greer of Pickens County, AL. She grew up as a farm girl and taught her husband how to hitch a mule and plow and do farming. Her husband died in 1919 leaving her with 11 children to raise; the youngest was 3 months old.

Her father (Abram Jones) and maternal grandfather (James S.V. Greer) both fought in Civil War of which her grandfather died.

I was told that she had a good sense of humor and loved to go to the beach and take off her shoes and walk in the sand. She lived all her life in Alabama but would love to take trips to Florida to visit some of her children and the beach.

She died at 73yrs old at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa.
