Grantsville – Joseph Minor Rupp, 85, former Grantsville marshal, died Thursday noon in a Tooele hospital of a heart attack.
Born Aug. 12, 1877, Salt Lake City, a son of Joseph Minor and Adelaide Mickens Rupp. Married Amy Louise Sandberg Sept. 7, 1898. She died in 1938. Retired employee Tooele Army Depot. Deputy sheriff in Tooele County. Once operated historic Grantsville Opera House Stage. Member, Old Utah State Guard. Rancher in Groveland, Idaho. Worked in machine shops in Idaho and Utah.
Survivors: two sons, Clarence J., Tooele; George, Grantsville; three daughters, Mrs. Blanche Spader, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Alice Sample and Mrs. Erma Dickerson, both of Grantsville; one brother William Rupp, Salt Lake City.
Funeral Monday 2 p.m. Grantsville Second-Clark Ward. 307 E. Main Street. Friends call Sunday evening, 110 S. Main Street, Tooele, and Monday at family residence, 93 Park St., Grantsville, 10:30 a.m. to time of service. Burial, Grantsville City Cemetery.
