He died January 20, 1941 at his sister, Hester Busby York's home north east of Amboy, Miami County, Indiana. Silas was first married on May 5, 1893 in Miami County, Indiana to an Annie E. Jones. His second marriage was on April 20, 1898 in Miami County, Indiana to a Carrie Belle Husted who was born 1871 in Indiana and died in 1960 in Indiana. Silas and Carrie never had any children.

SILAS E. BUSBY - Silas E. Busby died suddenly at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. York, 21 miles north-east of Amboy about 10 o'clock Monday night. He had felt as well as usual Monday. Shortly after he retired for the night, he became ill and called Mrs. York. A doctor was called, but nothing could be done to save him. He died of a heart attack.

Mr. Busby was a son of Thomas Monroe and Eliza Ellen (Morris) Busby, and was born in Madison County, Ind., Sept. 15, 1870. He came to this county with his parent when he was quite young, and lived most of his lifetime in this vicinity.

He was married to Carrie Huston, who survives him. Surviving also are one sister, Mrs. Hester York, with whom he made his home; and one nephew, Clifford Busby, of Madison County.

The funeral service was held from the Amboy Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon in charge of Rev. Taylor, pastor of the Rich Valley United Brethren Church, of which church Mr. Busby was a member.

Burial was made in the Amboy I.O.O.F. cemetery.
