Mr. Benedict was born in Denison, Texas the son of Mr. & Mrs. William Benedict. He died at a Bonham, Texas hospital.

On 10 November 1942, he married Miss Peggy Lea, in Durant, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

Since 1954 Benedict has been co-owner and chef at Carl's Restaurant, a downtown Denison restaurant which will celebrate 45th anniversary Friday.(a few days after his demise)

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Billie Mosse Lodge 1152, Denison Commander 24, Knights Templar, Hella Temple.

Surviving are his wife; three brothers, Horace of Clovis, N.M., William of Dallas, Texas and A.P. "Red" of Terrell, Texas.

Services were held at Bratcher Funeral Home with the Rev. Lesslie Thompson officiating.

Pallbearers were Mack McCamant, Albert Brown, Al Brown, Dr. Tom Moorman, Elmer Campbell, Dr. H.J. Marshall, Dr. Robert Duncan, George Browder, Grayson County Judge Horace Groff, J.E. Eoff and Bob Franklin.
