Pfc. Cody J. Eggleston, 21, of Eugene, Ore.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; died Oct. 24 at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., of wounds sustained Oct. 16 in Baqubah, Iraq, when he received indirect fire. Eggleston is survived by his wife, Karie, and stepdaughter, Raegen, both of North Carolina; father, Walter of La Pine; Mother, Angie Jackson of Eugene; stepmother, Vicky, of La Pine; stepfather, Eric Jackson of Eugene; sister, Amber, 19, assigned to the USS George Washington in Japan; brother, Brandon Reed of La Pine; stepsisters, McKenzie, 11, of La Pine,Katrina of Eugene, and Shylynn of Eugene; Grandparents, Sam & Esther Reed of Eugene, Walter Eggleston, Sr. of Salem and Dorothy Stock of Prineville. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Kenneth Stock.
