Services for Mrs. Kate S. Hughes, 87, were held at the Methodist Church in Breckenridge officiated by Rev. Leroy Brown.
Mrs. Hughes was born in Hunt County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hefner of Ivan.
She as married in Stephens County in 1889 to the late E.E. Hughes who preceded her in death. The couple operated the Breckenridge Hotel in 1896. They were also ranchers. The couple moved to Arizona in 1899 and Mrs. Hughes returned to Breckenridge in 1955 to make her home with a son. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survived by one son - W.H. Hughes; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters - Mrs. W.J. Cummings and Mrs. Jennie Robinson.
