Allen; grandson of Purcell W. Allen. Friends called at Joseph Gawler's Sons, Wisconsin Avenue at Harrison Street, NW after 12 noon, Sunday, August 29, where services were held on Monday, August 30 at 12:30 p.m. Interment Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions were made to the American Heart Society.
Charles Alton White, Jr. 19 of Silver Spring; Patrick Craven Hall, 19, of Kensington; and Philip Toby Allen, 20, of Wheaton, Maryland died in an a two-car collision near Socorro, New Mexico. The men were together when the accident occurred on an interstate highway where construction had routed four lanes of traffic into two. In the other vehicle a small child perished.
