Mr. Borders, who was a Confederate veteran, had been a resident of Calhoun County for more than 40 years. He had been in ill health for the last two years.
Surviving are three sons, M. E. Borders of Fruithurst, and W. E. and J. H. Borders of Blue Mountain; and two daughters, Mrs. H. D. Sealy of Muscadine and Mrs. Lola Turley of Wedowee.
