Thomas Ray Descheny was born Oct. 21, 2006, and passed from this life Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, eight days before his second birthday. His parents are Lisa Rayne Begaye and Renaldo Descheny of Shiprock.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Thomas and Minnie Curley of Sweetwater, Ariz., and Ambrose Begaye of Shiprock. His paternal great-grandfather was Ben C. Benally Sr.

He leaves behind his brother, Ambrose Ren Descheny; and cousins, Rae Minnie Begaye and Tanisha Nizhoni Autumn Yazzie. His maternal grandparents are N.M. State Representative Ray Begaye and Helen Jean Curley, both of Shiprock. He also leaves behind his paternal grandparent, Cheryl Johnson of Shiprock. Thomas leaves behind many relatives who cherished, adored and loved him in his short time on earth.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Shiprock First Baptist Church. Russell Begaye, Executive Director of San Juan Baptist Association, will officiate.



Burial will be at Emanuel Mission Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Shiprock First Baptist Church.
