Opal Naomi Stanford, 91, was born July 26, 1917, in Mangum to Mattie Belle (Lillard) Starr and Alonzo Bell Starr, and passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.

She attended Humphreys School and married Alfred Clyde Winters on Aug. 20, 1932, in Kiowa County on Bob Winters' farm. She was a homemaker for her family and enjoyed gardening.

Mrs. Stanford was a member of the Blair First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and Jerral; two sisters, Pauline and Laudise; a son, Bryan Winters; her first husband, Alfred Clyde Winters on Dec. 8, 1963; her second husband, Ralph Pryor in 1972; and her third husband, Cornelius Anderson Stanford on Feb. 9, 1987; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann.

Mrs. Stanford is survived by her sons, Lillard Dewayne Winters and wife Jeanette of Texarkana, Texas, Robert Jacky Winters and wife Marion of Norman, and Danny Wayne Winters and wife Avis of Oklahoma City; her grandchildren, Dewayne, Chris, Susan, Laura, Nikkie and Scott; her great-grandchildren, Leigh, Zack, Tayler, Avis Elle, Dani, Spencer, Ryan, Sidney, Tristan and Presley.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Blair First Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Randy Mitchell.

Burial will be at Blair Cemetery under the direction of People's Co-operative Funeral Home.

Family visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at People's Co-operative Funeral Home in Lone Wolf.
