MERKEL - Manie M. Reamy, 86, died Monday, March 20, 2000, at his home. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Merkel Church of Christ with Larry Gill and Dick Still officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.

Mr. Reamy was born in Comanche. He was a member of Merkel Church of Christ and was involved in the World Sunday School Organization. He was a member of Home National Guard during WWII and was a pumper for Warren Petroleum in Woodson. He moved to Merkel in 1964 and worked for Union 76, moving to Big Spring, and later returning to Merkel in 1979 after his retirement. He was a contract pumper until 1989 and was a member of the Merkel Senior Citizens.

Survivors include three daughters, Elsa Mae Boyd of Woodson, Deanna Gayle Swinney of Merkel, Dorotha Vayle Michum of Farmington, N.M.; one son, Ricky Alyn Reamy of Lamesa; one sister, Helen Horton of Tulare, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
