He was a member of Cornelia Christian Church, where he formerly served as a deacon, elder, and Sunday school superintendent and church treasurer. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as an engineer on B-24 airplanes. Mr. Cash was a retired rural letter carrier for Mount Airy with 30 years of service, and was a dairy and cattle farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Nettie Ben Wilmot Cash, Mount Airy; sons and daughter-in-law, Lee and Sue Cash, Jonesboro, and Ben Cash, Mount Airy; and sister, Bonnie Anderson, Demorest.
