LAMPASAS - Services for Emma Laura Garner, 89, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Lampasas.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mrs. Garner died Sept. 20, 2004, at a Bertram nursing home.
She was born Oct. 29, 1914, in Lampasas, the daughter of the late John Newell Sr. and Emma Rowena Bean Bates.
Mrs. Garner had lived in Bertram for six months and previously resided in Lampasas County her entire life.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Lampasas.
Survivors include a son, Herman Edward Garner Jr. of Lampasas; a daughter, Laura Eaton of Marble Falls; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Garner was also preceded in death by an infant son, Waymon Edward Garner; and two brothers, W.D. Bates and Newell Bates.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Cherokee Home For Children or to the church of one's choice.
