Margaret Habernecht Stricken
Miss Margaret Habernecht, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Andersen, died last Friday night from the effects of a stroke of apoplexy. Miss Habernecht had attended a picnic at the lake on Wednesday with a number of her girl friends and was apparently in her usual health. After arriving home in the evening she was taken with a severe headache. Dr. Burshiem was called but before he could arrive she had become unconscius and remained in that state until her death on Friday night following. Deceased was born in Denmark. Her father died when she was but two years of age and upon the second marriage of her mother to Mr. Mathias Anderson, she came to Lincoln county to reside. In early childhood she was left a criple, being paralyzed on one side as a result of a severe attack of measles. She had attained the age of nineteen years and eleven months at the time of her death. She was of a gentle nature and endeared herself in the hearts of her many friends. Besides her parents and two little brothers, she leaves two aunts in Denmark, two uncles in Chicago, and an aunt, Mrs. Nels Nelson of Diamond Lake township, to mourn her demise.
The funeral was held from the house at 1:30 p.m. and from the Diamond Lake church at 2:30 p.m. on Monday of this week. Rev. Jorgensen of Danebod, Tyler, conducted the services. The remains were laid to rest in the Diamond Lake cemetery. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Anderson extend sympathy in their bereavement.
