After an illness of more than three months, Mrs. John Anderson died at her home in this place at 9:45 Monday morning, bringing to a close a useful life. Her final illness began in the closing weeks of the old year and continued almost unabated for fourteen weeks, her ailments being numerous cancers that effected her liver and abdomen. She had spent several weeks in Grube's hospital in Punxsutawney, only returning to this place when all hope had been abandoned for her recovery.

The deceased was a daughter of the late Samuel Yohe of Big Run, and was born June 23, 1862. Thirty-three years ago at Brookville, she was united in marriage to John Anderson, who survives her with seven of nine children: Thomas of Akron, Ohio; James and Leslie of this place; Mrs. Oscar Buhite, Mrs. Merle Wolfgang of this place, Misses Mary and Genevieve at home. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters: James of Big Run, William of Indian county, Mrs. Mary Sweger of Kittanning and Mrs. Emma Shaddock of Big Run. The Anderson family have been residents of this place about 2 1/2 years, having been former residents of Big Run.

Brief funeral services were conducted in the home at 12:30 Wednesday afternoon, Rev. J. B. Smith officiating, and the funeral party went to Big Run on the 1:25 trolley where services proper were conducted by her pastor M. S. Spear, in the Christian church, with Interment in the McClure cemetery. The pall bearers were: G.E. Dunlap, J.L. Long, A.J. Deemer, F.O. Parsons, Clarence Kraemer and John Allen. L.H. Reed was the undertaker in charge.
