Abraham Jacob Lansing was baptised on 24 April 1720. Son of Helena Pruyn and Jacob Lansing, who married on 27 September 1701; maternal grandson of Franse Janse Pruyn and Alida; paternal grandson of Hendrick Lansing, great grandson of Gerrit Lansing.

Abraham's siblings included Alida Lansing Van Arnhem (1702–55), Henrik Jacobse "Hendrick" Lansing (bap. 1 Dec 1703), Elizabeth Lansing (bap. 30 June 1706; m. 18 July 1729 Jan Dirkse Van Arnhem), Franciscus Lansing (bap. 18 July 1708; m.
