DR. JOHNSTON, RETIRED DENTIST SUCCUMBS TODAY
Dr. Charles Brewer Johnston, 73, retired dentist, died early today at his home, New Hope Plantation, Spyker, Louisiana. A native of Monroe, Dr. Johnston practiced dentistry in Bastrop from 1930 until his retirement in 1948. He had previously practiced in Monroe where his father had also been a dentist for many years. Dr. Johnston was a graduate of Vanderbilt College.

Mrs. Lucius Hayes of Lafayette
Several nieces and nephews
Funeral services have been set for 3 pm Tuesday in Blackwell-Golden Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard R. Cook in charge. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery.
