DANIEL EASTMAN DEAD

Daniel W. Eastman, of Thurman, died in Strong City this morning, of a complication of diseases, after a two years' sickness.

Mr. Eastman came to Kansas about thirty-five years ago, and settled on Phenis Creek, south of Emporia. He lived there about fifteen years and then moved to Chase County. He was the father of twelve children, all of whom are grown. Eight of the children are boys and four are girls. With one exception, the children live in Chase County. Mr. Eastman was 60 years old.

Mr. Eastman was well known in Emporia, and had many friends in Lyon County. He was a strong Christian man and lived a useful life. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at Strong City, and the body will be sent to Emporia for interment in Maplewood Cemetery.
