Alfonso Rivas Dominguez, 81 of Sun Valley, NV passed away on September 27, 2008. Alfonso was born in Tamazzula, Durango, Mexico on January 23, 1927 to Inasio and Rosa Dominguez. On July 13, 1962 he married Julia Lopez. They have lived in Nevada for 61 years and Alfonso retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad after 32 years of service. He loved the outdoors and gardening, family gatherings and music like La Banda.
Alfonso is survived and greatly missed by his wife, Julia; sons, Alfonso, Rick, Jorge and Ramon; his daughter, Rose, and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Rosary will be held Wednesday, October 1 from 7-9 p.m. and the Funeral will be held Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 1 p.m. both at Walton's Sparks Funeral Home, 1745 Sullivan Lane, Sparks, NV. A graveside service will follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery.
