Edith Heisser Hutson entered into eternal rest on the morning of October 29, 2006. She was 85 years old.

Born in Charleston on October 27, 1921, she was the daughter of Manning Simons Heisser and Caroline Grooms.

She attended Crafts School and graduated from Memminger High School. She also attended St. Francis Xavier School of Nursing.

She was a lifelong member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 66 years, Willard Wilson Hutson. Also surviving are her three children, Sandra H. Collins and her husband, Robin of Mt. Pleasant , Suzanne H. Young of Charlotte, NC and Willard Bill W. Hutson Jr. and his wife, Carol of Columbia.

She always took great interest and pleasure in her nine grandchildren, R. Bryan Collins and his wife, Amy, Timothy H. Collins and his wife, Etta all of Mt. Pleasant, Robin S. Young of Rock Hill, SC, Amy E. Young of Charlotte, NC, Lawrence C. Young and his wife, Monica of Dallas, TX, Heidi Y. Rudloff and her husband, Joe of Atlanta, GA; Ten great grandchildren, Hutson Collins, Chase J. Collins, Caroline E. Collins and Simons K. Collins of Mt. Pleasant, Erika Young, Alexander Young and Alyssa Young of Rock Hill, SC, Braiden Rudloff and Bronte Rudloff of Atlanta, GA and Sarah Katherine Rogers of Columbia and she is also survived by her sister, Laurie H. Dame of Summerville. She was predeceased by her brothers, John F. Heisser and M. Reynolds Heisser, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 30, 2006 at J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from five until seven o'clock. A service of Christian Burial will be held on October 31, 2006 at eleven o'clock in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
