FORT WORTH - Harriet Rushing Harris, 83, a retired Fort Worth school district secretary, died Monday at home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member.

Burial: Private.

Visitation: 5 to 7 Thursday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harris was born in Bryan and had lived in Fort Worth since 1920. She was a member of the Petroleum Club and the Woman's Club of Fort Worth.

Memorials: First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, Presbyterian Night Shelter or Saint Joseph Hospice.

Survivors: Son, Newton Temple Harris III of Agua Dulce, Calif.; daughter, Mary Dee Harris of Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
