Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary, LLC LEONARD PAUL JABER L. Paul Jaber, age, 61, of Honolulu, Oahu, passed away September 16, 2008 in Honolulu, Oahu, after a courageous battle with cancer. Paul was born on April 2, 1947 in Honolulu, Oahu and graduated from Chaminade University of Hawaii. He served our community and non-profit organizations for many years as a Director of Development, successfully obtaining private and public funding for numerous programs for companies he worked with, including the Hawaii Centers for Independent Living, American Lung Association of Hawaii, Bishop Museum, Damien Memorial School, and most recently Kahi Mohala Behavioral Health. Prior to his nearly 20 years of service to the community and non-profit organizations, Paul played an integral role in establishing prestigious restaurants, including Nick's Fish Market and the Black Orchid. An avid cyclist, swimmer and runner, Paul could be seen regularly cycling around town, swimming at his favorite beach, Kaimana Beach, and running near Diamond Head. Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Glavin Jaber, and his mother, Harriet Olive Anjo Jaber. He is survived by his daughter, Jenifer T. Jaber of San Diego, California; his father, Carl C. Jaber of Honolulu, and Carl's wife, Anna Leinani Jaber; his brothers, Carl J. Jaber (Marsha) of Vancouver, Washington, Calvin R. Jaber of Wilmington, Delaware, and Clayton M. Jaber of Mesa, Arizona; his sister, Carol N. Lothringer of Austin, Texas; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. WITH A RECEPTION IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING. ALOHA ATTIRE. THE SCATTERING OF ASHES WILL BE PRIVATE.
