SPARR -- Brenda G. Barnes, 53, a retired educator in the Orange County Public School System, died Wednesday, June 18, 1997, at her parents' home in Sparr, following a brief illness.
A native of Sparr, Mrs. Barnes came to Sparr from Orlando, three months ago. She completed a B.S. degree at Claftin College, Orangeburg, S.C. and M.S. degree from Ball State University, Muncie, Ind. Mrs. Barnes taught in various schools in Florida, Virginia, and Wisconsin. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta, Public Service Sorority, and she was a strong advocate for the advancement of our youth through education. She was Baptist.
Survivors include her parents, Aggie and Mamie Green, Sparr; son, Kenneth Falana Jr., Orlando; daughter, Kathleen Falana, Orlando; sisters, Barbara Love, Glendale, Md., Vivian Hairston, Columbia, Md.; brother, Eugene Green, Sparr; and
several nieces and nephews.
Cunningham's Funeral Home, Ocala, is handling arrangement.
