KOOSHAREM/PROVO, Utah--Elaine Bagley, age 78, of Provo, died August 11, 1999 following surgery at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah.

She was born June 10, 1931 in Koosharem, Utah, to E. Merrill and Ruby Arminta Olsen Bagley, the first of seven children. Elaine attended the Utah School for the Blind in Ogden, Utah and later graduated from Richfield High School in 1940.Elaine was a member of the LDS Church and served as organist for various ward organizations. She especially enjoyed her many years of service in the Primary. Elaine taught piano lessons and was frequently sought as an accompanist for soloists and singing groups. Elaine loved learning. She read widely from scriptures, general and LDS history, biographies and literature. She maintained interest in current events and issues and LDS Church progress.

She was much loved by her family and friends, which included 29 nieces and nephews who frequented her home. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers: Melva (Vermont) Harward, Provo; Lowell (Alieth) Bagley, Orem; Jay (Betty) Bagley, Logan; Lell (Carole) Bagley, Salt Lake City and Carolyn (Howard) Edwards, Park City. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Fern Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 17, 1999 at 1 p.m. in the Koosharem LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Koosharem Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
