Mrs Hazel Young Kirby, age 93, of Novice, Texas passed away
Friday, January 17, 2003 at 10:20 a.m. at Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman, Texas.
Services were 11:00 a.m. Monday at Henderson Funeral Chapel with Joe Hailey officiating. Interment followed at Midway Cemetery, under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman, Texas.
Hazel was born August 23, 1909 in Blue, Oklahoma to the late Augustus
Allen and Eola Poteet Young. She was raises and attended school in Chico, Texas and had been a resident of Coleman County since 1945. Hazel married Dexter (Rat) Beeson Kirby on September 8, 1930 in Waurika, Oklahoma and they celebrated 57 years of marriage. Dexter preceder her in death in 1989. She was a member o the Novice Church of Christ and emploted with the Novice ISD for 18 years, retiring in 1964.
Suvivors include three daughters, Mrs Homer (Eola) Lewis of Austin, Mrs Dale (Patricia) Parton of Novice and Mrs James (Dorothy) Vineyard of Coleman; two sons, Eddy (Marie) Kirby of Dallas and James (Sharon)
Kirby of Rowlett; three sisters, Erly Richie of Svlya, North Carolina, Mozelle Kennedy of Knoxville, Tennessee and Lucille Walker of Wichita Falls, Texas; a brother, Allen Young of Wichita Falls, Texas; 13 grand-children; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Lewis, David Lewis, Rodney Parton, Randal Parton, Todd Vineyard, Brady Kirby and Grant Pope. Honorary pallbearers
included Michael Lewis, Jr,, John Lewis, Zack Vineyard, Blaine Barker, Aaron Walters and Chase Vineyard.
