Services were held Saturday afternoon at the Bethany Lutheran church (sic), Ruskin, for Mrs. Henry A. Thayer, a resident of that community all of her life. Rev. Albert Rasmussen officiated and burial was in Spring Creek cemetery (sic). The obituary:
Agnes C. Thayer, daughter of Nels and Ollie Houtwed, was born south of Ruskin on Aug. 27, 1907, and died at her home in Ruskin Aug. 16, 1961, at the age of 53 years, 11 months and 11 days.
She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran church (sic) where she remained a faithful member until her death.
Surviving are her husband, Henry A. Thayer, of Ruskin; five children, Benjamin, Jimmy, Mervin and Marvin Thayer of Ruskin and Mrs. LaVern Bohling (Janice) of Byron; four grandchildren, Jeffrey and Patricia Thayer of Ruskin and Terry and Gregg Bohling of Byron; one sister and two brothers, Mrs. L.M. Larsen of Kearney, and Jens and Chris Houtwed of Ruskin; and a host of relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Houtwed, an infant brother and sister, and two infant granddaughters.
