Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Williamson Allmond, who died after an extended illness Sunday, June 12, in a Vidalia hospital were held at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Monday, June 13 at three o'clock, with the Rev. Roger Appel officiating and assisted by the Rev. Charles Whitson.
The deceased was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and was the daughter of J.H. and Sadie Phillips Williamson, and had been a lifetime resident of the Soperton and Mt. Vernon area.
Pallbearers were Emmitt Allmond, Marion Williamson, Earl Williamson, Junior Allmond, Alby Gay, Elton Moore, Emerson Gay, and Royal Sullivan.
Survivors, besides her mother and father are; her husband, George M. Allmond of Soperton; two daughters, Mrs. Ben Williamson of Vidalia and Mrs. Wendell Braddy of Douglas; one sister, Mrs. George Hilton of Tarrytown; four brothers, E.J. Williamson, J.C. Williamson, Abbie Williamson, all of Tarrytown and Hermon Williamson of Lyons, and seven grandchildren.
Frank Murchison Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
